This event was a musical exploration of genomics in healthcare, in collaboration with researchers at the University of Oxford, and HIVE Choir, a vocal ensemble based in Belfast.

Genomic testing is increasingly available – with uses ranging from tracing ancestry to guiding medical treatments – and holds promise for improving health. However, our research with people experiencing genomic testing suggests a more complex reality, with uncertainty or challenging implications.

Together with HIVE Choir we have transformed our research into songs that capture these complexities. The choir performed these songs, featuring a new piece created during a workshop earlier in the day with individuals affected by genomic testing. The performance was followed by an engaging panel discussion.
